About It's Complicated

In 2019, two therapists set out to tackle a complicated problem.

The psychiatrist Carl Jung once wrote that, “Nobody, as long as he moves about among the chaotic currents of life, is without trouble”. One does not have to be a therapist, though, to realize that life is complicated. But finding the right therapist, who you can build a strong relationship with, shouldn’t have to be. This is the founding principle of It’s Complicated.Since our start, we've helped over 30,000 clients and counting, offering thousands of free crisis support hours, and built thriving therapy communities in Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Munich, and Athens.

Regression therapy and its applications

Regression therapy focuses on past events and how they influence present mental and emotional wellness. By revisiting and reliving an earlier experience that may have influenced the development of certain issues such as phobias, depression, intimacy issues, and childhood abuse, regression therapy aims to uncover and address underlying root causes. This therapeutic approach primarily developed out of the theories and techniques of hypnotherapy and psychoanalysis, providing a structured framework for exploring and resolving past traumas and conflicts.

How regression therapy works

Regression therapy typically involves a trained therapist guiding the individual through a process of revisiting past experiences, memories, and emotions. Through techniques such as hypnosis, guided imagery, or relaxation exercises, the therapist helps the individual access deeper layers of their subconscious mind. During the regression session, individuals may revisit significant events from their past, including childhood experiences, traumas, or unresolved conflicts. As individuals delve into their subconscious, emotions, memories, and sensations may surface to conscious awareness. The therapist provides a safe and supportive environment for the individual to explore and process these experiences.

Is regression therapy right for you?

Regression therapy may be suitable for individuals who are seeking to understand and address deep-rooted issues that have their origins in past experiences. If you are open to exploring your subconscious mind and revisiting past events to promote healing and personal growth, regression therapy could be a valuable option. It's important to discuss your needs and goals with a qualified regression therapist to determine if this approach aligns with your preferences and therapeutic objectives. Considering your comfort level with exploring past experiences and emotions in a guided therapeutic setting can help you decide if regression therapy is the right fit for you.
