In the session a somatic coach might use techniques like noticing emotions in the body, breath work, physical exercises and movements. Somatic coaching departs from traditional talk therapy by actively incorporating the individual’s physiology into the sessions, so that progress isn’t limited to the client only cognitively gaining knowledge.
