About It's Complicated

In 2019, two therapists set out to tackle a complicated problem.

The psychiatrist Carl Jung once wrote that, “Nobody, as long as he moves about among the chaotic currents of life, is without trouble”. One does not have to be a therapist, though, to realize that life is complicated. But finding the right therapist, who you can build a strong relationship with, shouldn’t have to be. This is the founding principle of It’s Complicated.Since our start, we've helped over 23,000 clients and counting, offering thousands of free crisis support hours, and built thriving therapy communities in Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Munich, and Athens.

Systemic coaching and its applications

Systemic coaching focuses on understanding the interconnectedness of individuals within their broader systems, such as families, teams, or organisations. It is used to help people navigate complex relationships and dynamics, identify patterns of interaction, and achieve their goals within the context of their larger systems. Systemic coaching is beneficial for individuals seeking to enhance leadership skills, improve team performance, navigate organisational change, resolve conflicts, and foster collaboration and innovation.

How systemic coaching works

Systemic coaching involves examining the interactions and relationships within a system to identify underlying patterns and dynamics. Coaches work with individuals or teams to explore how their actions and behaviours impact the larger system and vice versa. Through dialogue, reflection, and experiential exercises, systemic coaches help clients gain clarity on their goals and develop strategies to navigate systemic challenges effectively. During coaching sessions, the focus is on fostering awareness of systemic influences and empowering clients to take purposeful action within their systems. Coaches may use techniques such as systemic constellations, role-playing, and stakeholder mapping to facilitate insight and change. By understanding and addressing systemic dynamics, individuals and teams can achieve greater alignment, effectiveness, and resilience.

Is systemic coaching right for you?

Systemic coaching may be suitable for individuals or teams who are navigating complex relationships and dynamics within their organisations or broader systems. If you are seeking to enhance your leadership skills, improve team performance, or address systemic challenges, systemic coaching could provide valuable support. It's important to discuss your needs and goals with a qualified systemic coach to determine if this approach aligns with your preferences and objectives. Considering your readiness to explore systemic influences and collaborate towards positive change can help you decide if systemic coaching is the right fit for you.
