Psychologist and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, in private, integrative, trauma - informed practice, combining emotional, interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic work in individual counseling.
My name is Mila and I'm a four time immigrant. After leaving my home country of Moldova at the age of 17, I lived in the US, Romania, the Netherlands, and now Germany.
After pursuing academic degrees in marketing & communication sciences and building a career in customer experience, I completed an additional 8 years of training in psychology and psychotherapy, transitioned to counselling, and (still relatively recently) relocated to Berlin.
My background helps me relate to my clients' busy lives, which often involve negotiating the responsibilities and priorities of multiple roles, while navigating the stresses of everyday life as immigrants in a challenging socio-economic reality.
Drawing on these experiences helps me accompany clients on their journey and together we design flexible strategies that work for their circumstances and activate their resources.
My approach weaves together different tools from my psychology training and Somatic Experiencing® to help people:
- increase emotional resilience and autonomy
- explore attachment patterns, develop self-awareness, boundaries, and communication skills to navigate relational difficulties at home and at work
- manage stress through nervous system regulation
- gain clarity, get to know themselves better and befriend their bodies
My clients say that my strengths are:
In sessions, my clients and I work with emotions, behaviors, thoughts, and belief systems, enabling them to reconnect to their resources, integrate difficult experiences, and develop more effective coping strategies. The body and felt sense are included, turning insight into real, lasting change.
How it looks in practice: in the first couple of sessions, we'll focus on establishing a supportive space to explore your current experience and relevant history with care and patience. Then we'll work on resourcing and developing a personalized toolkit you can use in and between sessions to self-regulate and increase resilience. Sessions often involve slowing down, growing the capacity to notice sensations, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors with curiosity, and moving closer to the life you want — always at your pace.
Why? I see the body and our felt sense as indispensable in bridging the gap between insight and sustainable transformation. Without grounding awareness in embodied experience, insights often remain abstract and unactionable. Similarly, body work that ignores the psyche risks treating the physical symptoms without resolving underlying cognitive or emotional causes.
Over the years, I found the integrative model to provide the foundation for exploring relational patterns, attachment, and identity in a containing therapeutic space.
My post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioral therapies brought to the mix practical tools for working with thoughts, behaviors, and belief systems within a structured, evidence-based framework. These techniques empower clients to identify unhelpful patterns, build more adaptive coping strategies, and make new choices that honor their values and core beliefs.
Somatic Experiencing® supports the work with a gentle body-oriented model, helping clients to process marks of stress and trauma through safe and effective nervous system regulation.
Together, these approaches have allowed me to guide adults experiencing relationship issues, life transitions, internal and external conflicts, loss and grief, stress and anxiety, fatigue, and associated physical symptoms. Counselling is tailored to the individual with their unique challenges and resources. If you'd like to get a feeling for how I work, book a free 20 minute call with me. I look forward to meeting you!
