For lovers of film and the psyche, Psynema brings cinema and psychology under one roof for a nostalgic, shared experience of viewing and discussing films together.

This special "Brunch edition" explores the psychological cost of silence: taboo, avoidance or denial, and what happens to us, and the people around us, when we can't or don’t want to find the words…

Join us for an exclusive preview of two new short films and the post-screening conversation with their director Lara Czernecki and the psychologist host Zsofia Nyul.

• 🎞️In Verified, set in a near-future Britain where a female survivor's testimony isn't enough to prove abuse, Peter is asked to speak. His hesitation is the film's real subject, and it shows us the pain of his silent moral dilemma.

• 🎞️In Your Choice to Leave, the unspoken takes a softer, sadder form. On their last night at boarding school together, Daniel and Max talk around the goodbye they can't face… It's a story about how we sometimes protect ourselves from grief by refusing to name it, even as it's already happening.

Two very different films, one shared question, and a live discussion where the viewer is invited to reflect, connect, and process together what the films brought up in each of us.
