Über dieses Event

Join us for an interactive session with Michela Nordmann-Netherlands, M.A., a registered drama therapist working with English-speaking families in Hamburg, on using story as a bridge to emotional regulation. To find out more about Michela and her work click here.

We often ask children to talk about their feelings, when many of them can't yet put words to what's happening inside. Story gives them distance, safety and a language for it. It also gives parents and caregivers a shared way to support regulation at home.

We will cover:

  • Why story works: the drama therapy thinking behind stories as a regulation tool for ages 5-11.

  • The Quest method: a practical walkthrough of how a child's big feeling becomes a character, a journey and a way forward.

  • Try it yourself: a short experiential exercise you can adapt to your own clients.

  • Bringing parents in: simple ways to extend the work into daily life, like bedtime and meltdown moments.

Whether you work with children, families or adults, you'll leave with tools for using metaphor and story in your own sessions.

Open to all mental health professionals in Hamburg!

Important note: The event starts at 8:30 PM, and doors open at 8:15 PM. Please ring the bell at Expat Couch when you arrive.

Spots are limited, so please RSVP via the event page to secure your spot.

If you can no longer attend, please let us know so we can offer your spot to someone else. Thank you! 😊
